The Salvation Army’s mission-driven team at the Winnipeg Centre of Hope as a full-time Housekeeper (Caretaker) keeping the entire facility spotless and safe for residents, staff and programs while earning $20–$24/hr (based on experience) + full union benefits, pension, health/dental, paid training, and the satisfaction of working for Canada’s largest non-governmental social services provider. Job Title

Housekeeper / Caretaker – Facility Cleaning & Light Maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Clean offices, common areas, residential floors, washrooms
  • Laundry duties & linen changes
  • Light maintenance – painting, minor repairs, furniture moving
  • Outdoor upkeep – snow removal, mowing, litter pickup
  • Handle garbage & hazardous waste safely
  • Report safety issues & major repairs
  • Keep accurate logs & records

Requirements

Education

High school or equivalent

Experience

3+ months cleaning/maintenance (life skills count)

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Clear criminal record, child & adult abuse registry checks
  • First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (training provided)
  • Hepatitis vaccination

Skills

  • Physically fit – lift 20+ lbs, bend, climb ladders
  • Work independently & safely with chemicals/equipment
  • Positive attitude in challenging environment
