Key Responsibilities
- Drive a dump truck to local pits and load with materials such as soil, gravel, and aggregate for landscape projects.
- Deliver materials to job sites safely and on time, following all traffic and company safety guidelines.
- Deliver and pick up bins including roll off containers from customer locations and construction sites.
- Float machines such as excavators, skid steers, or loaders to and from sites using appropriate trailers.
- Perform some general labour duties on job sites when not driving, including assisting the landscape crew.
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions from hot summer sun to cold winter days.
- Comply with all company health and safety guidelines and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
What You Need to Qualify
Three years of previous heavy truck driving experience is required. You must hold a valid DZ license, and an AZ license is strongly preferred. Experience driving a roll off truck is mandatory. You must be comfortable climbing in and out of the bin to secure loads and operate the roll off mechanism. Comfort with loading and floating heavy equipment is essential. You need a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. You must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety training, which can be completed after hire. Personal suitability includes being an excellent team player, having great communication skills, ability to work independently and follow instructions, and being punctual and personable. You are responsible for your own transportation to the shop and for providing your own personal protective equipment.
Pay Rate and Benefits
