Key Responsibilities
- Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using a forklift, clamp, or push pull equipment safely and efficiently.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations, verifying quantities against shipping documents.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner meeting customer service standards and delivery timelines.
- Move product from staging or storage areas into trailers, securing loads properly for transport.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and safety guidelines.
- Maintain appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security, reporting any discrepancies to the inventory control team.
- Assist in physical inventories and conduct cycle counts as requested, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Complete inspection forms prior to operating equipment, reporting any safety concerns to management promptly.
- Use RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory and maintain attention to detail throughout each shift.
What You Need to Qualify
A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. At least three months of forklift experience or experience using warehouse distribution equipment is required. You must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 to 12 hours per shift. Physical ability to lift and pull 50 pounds without restriction is essential. Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head are required. You will be walking in the distribution centre and around the area with great frequency, as facilities are over a quarter mile in length. You should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variations, and be able to access all areas of the building without limitations. Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed is required. You must be able to get NFI forklift certified. Attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and basic math skills are necessary. Basic safety understanding in operating equipment is mandatory. Must have Excel knowledge plus general computer knowledge.
Pay Rate and Benefits
The base hourly pay rate for this position is 23.00 Canadian dollars per hour.
