This Electrician role is a rare permanent solar O&M position on the brand-new 500 MWdc Wandoan Solar Farm (one of Queensland’s biggest) – live on-site or DIDO from Dalby/Chinchilla/Tara and earn $55–$65/hr flat + super (real $135k–$160k+ year with regular OT), full camp accommodation & meals provided, 15/13 or 10/4 roster options, company dual-cab ute, phone, iPad, and all tools. Job Title
Solar Farm Electrician – Operations & Maintenance (MV/HV Authorised)
Responsibilities
- Daily SCADA monitoring & fault response
- Inverter resets, string testing, thermography
- 33 kV switching & isolation (full training given)
- Preventative & corrective maintenance on transformers, switchgear, trackers
- Run small crews & subcontractors
- Write SWMS, permits, HV switching sheets
- Stock control & spares management
- Keep site & camp immaculate
Requirements
Education
Queensland Electrical Licence (unrestricted A-Grade)
Experience
Minimum 1 year on an operating solar farm OR heavy industrial/mining fault-finding
Qualifications
- QLD Electrical Licence + CPR/LVR
- Manual C licence
- HV switching ticket huge bonus (they’ll pay for it)
- EEHA, Working at Heights, Confined Space current
Skills
- Fault-find inverters & string combiners like a pro
- Read SLDs & schematics fast
- Write clear reports & switching programs
- Lead apprentices without drama
- Stay calm when the plant is down
Knowledge
- Huawei/Sungrow central inverters
- 33 kV substation operations
