Key Responsibilities
- Perform repair and maintenance of operational plant and equipment across the Glenbrook site to ensure minimal downtime.
- Provide mechanical support on a breakdown basis, diagnosing faults and completing repairs quickly and safely.
- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections according to scheduled plans, identifying potential issues before they cause failures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects by suggesting and implementing better ways to maintain equipment.
- Weld and fabricate components as needed using appropriate techniques for medium to heavy fabrication.
- Work an 8 hour day, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and call out work required from time to time.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, positively contributing to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
What You Need to Qualify
You must hold a relevant Trade Certificate in fitting and welding or a closely related discipline. Welding experience in medium or heavy fabrication is essential. A strong team focus is required, along with the ability to work independently when needed. Effective verbal and written communication skills are important. You need sound analytical, problem solving, and decision making ability. A positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of your work is expected. You must have a proven record of good attendance and reliable work history. A strong work ethic and the ability to consistently deliver work to a high standard are non negotiable. Pay Rate and Benefits
The hourly rate for this fitter welder position ranges from 38 to 45 New Zealand dollars per hour based on experience and qualifications, which aligns with current market rates for trade certified fitters in the Waikato region.
