This Industrial Electrician job at Autogenic Engineering is a full-time hybrid role for a switched-on sparky who lives for PLCs, robots, and factory automation. You’ll wire panels, install VSDs, fault-find 415 V systems, run conduit & tray, terminate instruments, and commission robotic cells for food/bev, pharma, and logistics clients all over Sydney. Mostly on-site across Greater Sydney with 1–2 days WFH for paperwork. Pay is AU$50–$60/hr (AU$115K–$135K/year) + super, ute, phone, overtime, and regular training. You need NSW electrical licence, industrial/automation experience, and safe hands on 415 V. It’s a rare gem for electricians who are sick of domestic/commercial and want to work with cutting-edge robotics in a small, fast-growing crew.

Job Title

Industrial Electrician – Automation & Robotics

Responsibilities

  • Build & wire PLC / robot control panels.
  • Install & terminate 415 V, instruments, VSDs.
  • Full-time Greater Sydney sites + occasional WFH.
  • Fault-find & commission automation systems.
  • Run tray, conduit, cabling on factory floors.
  • Read & red-line electrical drawings.
  • Program basic safety PLCs (huge bonus).
  • Keep sites & paperwork 100 % compliant.
  • Work with mechanical fitters & engineers.
  • Zero incidents mindset.

Requirements

Education

NSW Electrical Licence (A-Grade).

Experience

Real industrial / factory / automation work.

Qualifications

  • NSW electrical licence + disconnect/reconnect.
  • White card, EWP, working at heights current.

Skills

  • Wire panels fast & neat.
  • Troubleshoot PLC I/O like a boss.
  • Read schematics without Google.
  • Stay calm when the robot crashes.
  • Communicate with engineers & clients.

Knowledge

  • Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs (bonus).
  • Safety circuits & Category ratings.
  • Profibus / Profinet / Ethernet IP.
  • AS3000 & machinery safety standards.
  • Robot safety fencing & light curtains.
