All shop work, no field. Heavy GMAW metal-core on mild & high-strength steel, some aluminum. Pay is $42–$48/hr flat (real $95k–$115k+ year with regular OT), full benefits day-1 (health, dental, vision, RRSP match), weekly pay, paid vacation, and tool/boot allowance. Monday–Friday days with optional weekend OT at 1.5×. Perfect for a Red Seal or strong Alberta Journeyperson who wants clean shop work, steady hours, and to stay home every night.

Journeyman Welder – Hydrovac Truck Fabrication & Repair
Responsibilities
- Build & repair hydrovac tanks, booms, trailers from prints.
- Heavy GMAW metal-core & solid wire (some aluminum).
- Grind, fit-up, operate overhead cranes.
- Keep shop & welds 100 % clean & defect-free.
- Fill weld logs & paperwork daily.
- Help train apprentices.
Requirements
Education
Journeyperson Welder ticket or Alberta Red Seal (or recognised Interprovincial).
Experience
Minimum 3 years post-ticket welding in heavy fabrication or manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Journeyperson certificate or Red Seal.
- CWB tickets an asset.
- Clean Class 5 licence.
Skills
- Expert GMAW metal-core & solid wire.
- Read complex prints & weld symbols.
- Operate 10–20 ton overhead cranes.
- Work fast while keeping perfect quality.
- Lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
Knowledge
- Hydrovac truck or heavy-truck fabrication.
