This full-time straight-day Welder gig at Hooper Welding in Hamilton is a proper heavy fab ticket for a real all-rounder who can run SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, TIG, plasma and submerged arc on stainless, aluminum and heavy plate. You’ll build pressure vessels, custom machinery, structural steel and ship/repair jobs from prints in one of Ontario’s oldest and busiest fab shops. Pay is CA$35–$42/hr (real $73k–$95k+/year with regular OT), full benefits after 3 months, RRSP match, boot & tool allowance. Monday–Friday 7 AM–3:30 PM + voluntary Saturday OT at 1.5×. Perfect for a 3–5+ year welder who wants big variety, new gear and no nights or afternoons.

Responsibilities
- Stick, MIG, flux-core, TIG, plasma, sub-arc.
- Weld stainless, aluminum, heavy plate.
- Read complex prints and weld symbols.
- Custom fab, pressure vessels, structural.
- Run brakes, shears, flame-cut, roll plate.
- Fit-up heavy assemblies with crane.
- Minor repairs on welding equipment.
Requirements
Education
No ticket required – experience rules.
Experience
3–5+ years multi-process heavy fab welding.
Qualifications
- Can pass Hooper weld test (all positions).
- Own basic hood & hand tools.
Skills
- Lay clean strong beads on stainless & aluminum.
- Read shop drawings cold.
- Fit precise, work safe.
- Lift 50 lbs, stand all day.
Knowledge
- Pressure vessel & structural codes.
- Multiple processes & materials.
- Shop safety.
Pay & Perks
